About the author
Mhara Starling is a Welsh author whose four books, published by Moon Books and Llewellyn Publications between 2022 and 2026, focus on Welsh mythology, folklore, and magical practice. Welsh Witchcraft (2022) sets out a system of practice drawn from Welsh traditions, including fairy lore, herbal knowledge, and charms. Welsh Fairies (2024) traces fairy lore from the Mabinogion through to contemporary experience. Pagan Portals: Y Mabinogi (2025) introduces the four branches of the Mabinogi as a source of magical and spiritual wisdom, and the forthcoming Pantheon - The Welsh (2026) surveys the deities of Wales through history, myth, and language. Writing as a Welsh practitioner, Starling positions the books as an alternative to the largely English and Celtic-revivalist material that dominates the wider Pagan Portals catalogue, aimed at readers wanting a specifically Welsh grounding for their practice.
