About the author
Meggan Watterson is a Harvard-trained theologian and author whose work focuses on women's place within Christian and spiritual history. Mary Magdalene Revealed: The First Apostle, Her Feminist Gospel and the Christianity We Haven't Tried Yet, published by Hay House and a Wall Street Journal bestseller, works verse by verse through the Gospel of Mary Magdalene to argue for a reading of early Christianity centered on Mary's teachings rather than on later church tradition. Her earlier book, Reveal: A Sacred Manual for Getting Spiritually Naked, is a more personal account of Watterson's own search, after leaving organized religion as a child, for the missing stories and images of women within spiritual tradition. She has also produced The Divine Feminine Oracle, a fifty-three-card deck and guidebook built around the same themes of feminine spiritual authority. Watterson's writing combines theological training with a personal, first-person voice aimed at readers interested in feminist approaches to Christian and biblical history.
