About the author
Matthew Petchinsky, publishing as Matthew Edward Petchinsky, writes practical spellbooks centered on folk magic and animal-associated practice. Purring Spells: Harnessing Bastet's Healing Frequencies and The Bastet Grimoire: Spells and Rituals of the Sacred Cat (both 2025) build on the Egyptian cat goddess Bastet, combining sound and vibration work with spells framed around feline energy and ancient Egyptian lore. The Hoodoo Pantry: Spells from the Mason Jar turns to a different tradition, presenting hoodoo spellwork built from common Southern kitchen staples such as rice, salt, honey, and vinegar, treating the household pantry as a working spellbook. All three books are self-published and written in an instructional, ritual-focused style aimed at practicing witches and hoodoo practitioners looking for themed, ready-to-use spells rather than at readers wanting historical or scholarly context for these traditions.
