About the author
Matilda Snowden writes for younger readers investigating claims of hauntings in everyday places. Her books for Mitchell Lane Publishers, including Investigating Ghosts in Cemeteries and Investigating Ghosts in Schools, all published in 2020, follow a consistent format: they lay out well-known ghost stories attached to a particular kind of location, then look at how paranormal investigators gather and weigh evidence for and against a haunting. Companion titles cover houses and hotels, rounding out a four-book set that treats cemeteries, schools, homes, and hotels as case studies in how ghost lore takes hold. The tone is inquisitive rather than credulous, aimed at middle-grade and early teen readers curious about the paranormal, and the series works as a light introduction to the methods, if not the conclusions, of ghost hunting as a hobby and subculture.
