About the author
Lance Storm is an Australian academic associated with the University of Adelaide, known for research in parapsychology that critically examines claims of extrasensory perception and psychokinesis. His book A New Approach to Psi: Re-Envisioning Paranormal Experience as Meaningful Coincidence, published by Routledge, reassesses the field's conventional framework, which the book traces largely to J. B. Rhine's experimental work at Duke University from the 1930s onward. Rather than treating psi phenomena as a discrete faculty to be proven or disproven experimentally, Storm's book proposes reframing many reported paranormal experiences in terms of meaningful coincidence, engaging with the statistical and methodological debates that have long surrounded psi research. The book is written for readers already familiar with the parapsychology literature, including its historical controversies, rather than as a general introduction to psychic phenomena, and reflects Storm's standing as a researcher working from within the academic side of the field.
