About the author
Kurt Kaltreider is the author of two books on Native American spirituality published by Hay House, American Indian Prophecies and American Indian Cultural Heroes and Teaching Tales. American Indian Prophecies presents a series of fact-based conversations between two characters, an English-descended New Englander and a fictional Cheyenne/Lakota elder, as a vehicle for exploring indigenous prophecy, vision, and dream traditions alongside the values they embody. The companion volume retells the stories of three Lakota cultural heroes credited with helping preserve their people's culture, paired with moral tales illustrating the consequences of abandoning integrity and communal service for self-interest. Both books present Native American spiritual material through a narrative and storytelling lens rather than as ethnography or scholarship, aimed at general readers drawn to indigenous prophecy and teaching traditions. The books do not identify Kaltreider's own background or credentials beyond his authorship of these two titles.
