About the author
Kurt E. Koch was a German theologian and evangelist known for his extensive writing on occultism from a conservative Christian standpoint. His books for Kregel Publications, including Occult ABC: Exposing Occult Practices and Ideologies and Christian Counseling and Occultism, catalogue and analyze dozens of occult practices, from folk magic and fortune-telling to spiritism, and argue for their spiritual danger from an evangelical position. Occult Bondage and Deliverance draws on case histories from his counseling work to describe what he presents as occult oppression and its resolution through Christian ministry, while Occult Practices and Beliefs reviews close to fifty forms of occult superstition and magic in a reference format, arranged from A to Z. Koch's books are directed at pastors, counselors, and lay Christians seeking a framework for understanding and responding pastorally to occult involvement, rather than at practitioners of the traditions he describes.
