About the author
Kristina Benson is the author of a small run of instructional Wicca titles published by Equity Press in the late 2000s, including Wicca Love Spells: Love Magick for the Beginner and the Advanced Witch. Her books, among them Potions, Herbs, Oils & Brews and Lessons for the Urban Witch, are aimed at practicing Wiccans looking for practical, everyday applications of their craft rather than pastoral or nature-based ritual. Lessons for the Urban Witch in particular addresses readers who live in cities and cannot easily gather herbs outdoors or perform rites in a forest, adapting Wiccan practice to apartment living. The other volumes function as reference collections: recipes and instructions for oils, incense, and brews, and, in Wicca Love Spells, over a hundred spells and recipes for love and romance graded from beginner to advanced. Taken together, the books read as hands-on manuals suited to readers already grounded in Wiccan basics who want recipes and rituals they can put to immediate use.
