About the author
Kosta Danaos is the author of Nei Kung: The Secret Teachings of the Warrior Sages and The Magus of Java: Teachings of an Authentic Taoist Immortal, both published by Inner Traditions International. Trained as a mechanical engineer, Danaos writes about Chinese internal martial and energetic practices from that technically minded vantage point, describing nei kung's account of yin and yang energy and the cultivation of ch'i in terms drawn from his own background. The Magus of Java centers on John Chang, described in the book as the first practitioner documented performing feats such as pyrokinesis and telekinesis, and introduces readers to the Mo-Pai lineage Chang is said to represent. Nei Kung develops the underlying framework of practice in more detail. Both books are addressed to readers already interested in Taoist internal arts and the claims made about their more extraordinary effects, presented from within that tradition rather than as outside investigation.
