About the author
Kenaz Filan is an author and initiated practitioner writing on Haitian Vodou and New Orleans Voodoo, published by Destiny Books. The Haitian Vodou Handbook, his introductory title, covers the myths, lineage, and protocols for working with the lwa, with particular attention to guidance for solitary practitioners. He followed it with two more focused guides, Vodou Love Magic and Vodou Money Magic, addressing relationships and financial concerns respectively through spirit work with specific lwa, and with The New Orleans Voodoo Handbook, which turns to the distinct Louisiana tradition and its magical tools, oils, and rituals. Across the four books, Filan writes from within the tradition rather than as an outside observer, aiming his material at readers who want detailed, practice-based instruction grounded in the cultural and religious context of Vodou rather than a general survey of the subject.
