About the author
Kathryn Camisa is the author of a series of short, illustrated ghost-story collections from Kodiak Books, including Spooky New Orleans and Ghostly Theaters, the latter also listed in a Spanish-language edition as Teatros Espectrales. Spooky New Orleans, from 2018, gathers four stories tied to the city's aboveground cemeteries and vampire lore, while Ghostly Theaters, from 2017, sets its four tales inside empty, seemingly haunted theaters. Each book runs to a compact 24 pages, formatted for younger or reluctant readers who want brief, atmospheric ghost stories rather than long-form fiction or nonfiction investigation. The bilingual availability of Ghostly Theaters suggests the series was produced for classroom or library use reaching both English- and Spanish-speaking young readers. No further biographical information about Camisa accompanies these listings, so this description is limited to the books' format and content as described by the publisher.
