About the author
Justin Eric Russell is the author of Haunted Prisons and Haunted Ships, both published by Bolt! in 2022 as part of a series introducing young readers to reported ghost stories. Each book takes a similar approach: it surveys accounts of strange sightings, sounds, and smells associated with well-known prisons or ships around the world, sets out the history behind the specific locations, and lays out possible non-supernatural explanations alongside the ghost stories themselves, leaving readers to weigh the evidence. The books are written for a younger audience and classified under occult philosophy, combining light history writing with a survey of popular haunting lore rather than personal or investigative claims about the paranormal.
