About the author
John Randolph Price (1929-2010) was an American businessman turned spiritual author and founder of the Quartus Foundation, an organization devoted to teaching what he called practical spirituality and abundance consciousness. Writing mainly for Hay House, he built a body of New Thought-inflected work connecting mental and spiritual practice to prosperity and wellbeing. "The Abundance Book," his best-known title, sets out a forty-day program intended to change readers' beliefs about money and lack. "The Alchemist's Handbook" draws on alchemical symbolism as a framework for personal transformation, while "The Jesus Code" and "A Spiritual Philosophy for the New World" present material he described as arising from his own mystical experiences and from a multi-year group experiment in consciousness he organized in the late 1980s. "The Superbeings" extends this into claims about ordinary people mastering life through spiritual practice. His work sits within the New Thought and prosperity teaching tradition.
