About the author
Jan Lindenberger is the author of a series of illustrated collector's price guides published by Schiffer Publishing, covering popular collectible categories. Black Memorabilia for the Kitchen, now in its fourth, revised and expanded edition as of 2008, catalogues kitchen-related collectible objects along with current values. Trolls documents the collecting of troll figurines and toys, and 501 Collectible Horses: A Handbook and Price Guide surveys equine-themed collectibles across the many forms in which the image of the horse has appeared. Each book combines photographs of pieces with identification details and pricing information intended for active collectors and dealers rather than casual readers. Lindenberger's guides sit within the reference and hobbyist segment of publishing, aimed at people building or appraising a specific collection, and are updated periodically to keep pace with changing collector values rather than offering historical or cultural analysis of the objects themselves.
