About the author
Hank Wesselman is an American paleoanthropologist who became a writer on shamanism after a series of spontaneous visionary experiences that began in 1983. His Spiritwalker series, which includes Visionseeker: Shared Wisdom from the Place of Refuge (Hay House) and the later Timeweaver: The Book of Nainoa (Sharedwisdom LLC), recounts visions he described experiencing of a descendant living thousands of years in the future, blending autobiography with speculative narrative about human evolution and consciousness. In The Re-Enchantment: A Shamanic Path to a Life of Wonder (St. Martin's Essentials / Sounds True), he draws on his scientific training as well as his shamanic practice to argue for reconnecting everyday life with a sense of wonder. Wesselman writes for readers interested in contemporary Western shamanism from an author who frames his own academic background as part of the story rather than something set aside from it.
