About the author
George W. Carey is the author of God-Man: The Word Made Flesh and, with Inez Eudora Perry, The Zodiac and the Salts of Salvation, works from the early twentieth century connecting biochemistry, the twelve cell salts, and the signs of the zodiac. The Zodiac and the Salts of Salvation lays out a system linking each zodiac sign to a corresponding mineral salt in the body, framed as a synthesis of astrology and the biochemic cell-salt ideas associated with Wilhelm Heinrich Schuessler. God-Man addresses biblical and esoteric material more directly, treating scripture as symbolic rather than literal history. Both books remain in print through small presses such as Merchant Books and Pantianos Classics, which reissue historical occult and metaphysical texts largely unchanged from their original editions. Carey's work is read today mainly by those interested in the history of astrological medicine and early twentieth-century American esotericism.
