About the author
Gary R. Renard is an American author best known for The Disappearance of the Universe, a bestselling book framed as an account of visits from two spiritual teachers, Arten and Pursah, who present themselves as advanced students of A Course in Miracles. The book, later published in Spanish as La desaparición del universo, discusses forgiveness, illusion and past lives as part of an argument for the teachings of A Course in Miracles. Renard continued the same framework in Your Immortal Reality and in The Lifetimes When Jesus and Buddha Knew Each Other, which extends the narrative device of teachings from Arten and Pursah to stories about the shared lifetimes of Jesus and the Buddha. Renard's books are addressed to readers already engaged with A Course in Miracles or drawn to its themes of forgiveness and nondual spirituality, presenting the material through narrative dialogue rather than direct instruction.
