About the author
Evelyn C. Rysdyk is a shamanic teacher and author whose books, mostly published by Destiny Books and Weiser Books, present shamanic journeying and ritual practice drawn from multiple traditions. The Norse Shaman: Ancient Spiritual Practices of the Northern Tradition offers journeys aimed at connecting with Norse deities and ancestral figures and step-by-step instructions for a seiðr ceremony, drawing on archaeological and textual sources from early medieval Europe. A Spirit Walker's Guide to Shamanic Tools covers the making and ritual use of drums, masks, and rattles, while Shamanic Creativity applies journeying and energy work to creative practice, and Modern Shamanic Living adapts a Siberian-influenced approach to contemporary daily life. Across these titles Rysdyk aims her books at practitioners building a personal shamanic practice rather than at scholars of comparative religion.
