About the author
Eva Pierrakos (1915-1979) was the Vienna-born founder of the Pathwork, a body of spiritual teaching she began transmitting in trance lectures from 1957 onward and developed into a structured system of self-study and inner work. Her book The Pathwork of Self-Transformation, published by Bantam, lays out that system through chapters on the idealized self-image, the forces of love and sexuality, emotional growth, and the spiritual meaning of crisis, presenting a process-oriented approach to psychological and spiritual development rather than a fixed doctrine. The Pathwork material, given originally in English and later translated into other languages, including Spanish editions such as No Temas El Mal, has been carried on since her death by Pathwork communities and teachers. Her books are used mainly by readers engaged in personal growth work rather than as introductory or academic texts.
