About the author
Elsie Olson writes nonfiction for young readers on paranormal and unexplained subjects, published through Abdo imprints such as Big Buddy Books and Lerner Publications. Spooky Cemeteries (2020) takes readers through some of the world's most famous haunted burial sites, pairing historical background with accounts of reported strange occurrences and grounding the eerie material in scientific context. Are You Psychic?: Facts, Trivia, and Quizzes (2017) approaches extrasensory perception and psychic ability through quizzes and trivia rather than straightforward narrative, inviting young readers to explore the idea of a sixth sense while presenting the claims as open questions. Both books are built for a school and library audience, combining photographs, illustrations and accessible text with factual framing rather than argument for or against the reality of the phenomena described. Olson's work sits within the broader category of children's nonfiction on ghosts, hauntings and the paranormal.
