About the author
Eleanor Kirk is the byline on The Influence of the Zodiac Upon Human Life, an astrology book originally published in 1894 and reissued in modern editions, including one from Literary Licensing (2014) that also carries the fuller title The Influence of the Zodiac Upon Human Life With Character Readings of Persons Upon the Cusp, and one from Cosimo Classics. The book interprets each sign of the zodiac through personality sketches, describing the typical appearance and character associated with people born under it, including those born on the cusp between signs. Rather than a technical manual of astrological calculation, it belongs to the older tradition of character-reading almanacs that used the zodiac as a framework for describing human temperament. Its reissues are aimed at readers of historical astrology and collectors of nineteenth-century esoteric texts who want the original interpretive approach preserved rather than updated for modern astrological practice.
