About the author
Demetra George is an astrologer and author closely associated with the revival of Hellenistic and traditional astrology, a movement that returned to ancient Greek and Roman astrological texts and techniques largely set aside by twentieth-century Western astrology. Her multi-volume Ancient Astrology in Theory and Practice: A Manual of Traditional Techniques (Rubedo Press) works through planetary condition and delineation as practised in the ancient sources, and has become a widely used reference among practitioners of traditional astrology. Astrology and the Authentic Self (2008, Ibis Press) applies chart analysis to questions of life purpose, while Mysteries of the Dark Moon: The Healing Power of the Dark Goddess (1992, HarperOne) explores the dark lunar phase through myth and goddess imagery. George also writes and teaches on the asteroid goddesses in astrology. Her work spans technical instruction for practitioners and more accessible books for general readers interested in lunar and archetypal astrology.
