About the author
Dee Norman writes on folk magic traditions for Watkins Publishing, describing herself in her books as a tarot and magic expert. Burn a Black Candle: An Italian American Grimoire (2022) is an illustrated introduction to Italian American magic, a tradition Norman presents as rarely documented elsewhere in print, drawing on practices and rituals connected to Italian folklore for personal wellbeing. The Golden Grimoire: The Magical Way to Wealth and Abundance (2025) shifts focus to money and prosperity, combining practical financial habits with magical ritual aimed at changing readers' mindset around wealth. Both books follow the grimoire format of instruction paired with ritual, oriented toward practitioners looking for a specific cultural or thematic tradition to work within rather than a general survey of magical practice. Norman's approach favours accessible, illustrated presentation over historical or comparative discussion of the traditions she draws on.
