About the author
David Young is a musician and producer described as having sold over a million CDs of flute-based music, and the author of Channeling Harrison, Book One (Rainbow Ridge, 2014), an account of what he describes as ongoing communication with the late George Harrison. The book presents itself as documentary rather than fiction, built from Young's personal record of the exchanges. A Cree Healer and His Medicine Bundle (North Atlantic Books), co-credited to Young, takes a different direction, recording the traditional plant knowledge and practices of a Cree healer with nearly two hundred photographs and maps, framed as an effort to preserve Indigenous medicinal knowledge before it is lost. The two books together show a writer moving between personal spiritual experience and documentary record-keeping of others' traditions.
