About the author
David Salisbury writes about contemporary witchcraft and Pagan practice, with books including Witchcraft Activism: A Toolkit for Magical Resistance (Weiser Books, 2019), The Deep Heart of Witchcraft (Moon Books, 2013), and A Mystic Guide to Cleansing & Clearing (Moon Books, 2016). His work pairs witchcraft with social and political engagement, covering topics such as joining activist groups, spellwork oriented toward causes like civil rights and environmental protection, and techniques for clearing what he describes as energetic burdens. The Deep Heart of Witchcraft moves past introductory correspondences, elements, guardians, spirits, toward what he presents as the deeper structure behind common Craft symbolism. Taken together, the three books suggest a writer working within modern Pagan and Wiccan circles who treats witchcraft as connected to daily life and public action rather than as a purely private or ceremonial pursuit. The books are aimed at readers already oriented toward Pagan or witchcraft communities.
