About the author
Carl F. Neal writes practical guides on witchcraft and craft traditions for Llewellyn Publications. "Imbolc: Rituals, Recipes & Lore for Brigid's Day" (2015) is part of Llewellyn's Sabbat Essentials series, covering the seasonal rite of Imbolc with rituals, recipes, lore, and correspondences for readers observing the witch's yearly cycle. "Incense: Crafting & Use of Magickal Scents" (2014, revised edition) is a hands-on manual for making incense at home, gathering 129 recipes alongside guidance on ingredients old and new. Across both books Neal's approach is instructional rather than theoretical: step-by-step recipes, ingredient notes, and seasonal correspondences aimed at practitioners who want to build their own materials and observances rather than read about the history of witchcraft in the abstract. His books sit within the occult-philosophy shelf and serve readers already engaged in Wiccan or pagan practice looking for concrete technique.
