About the author
Bruce H. Lipton is a cell biologist and former medical school researcher whose book The Biology of Belief became a bestseller in the alternative-health and self-development market after its original 2005 publication. Lipton argues that cellular biology, not just genetics, is shaped by environmental signals and belief, a thesis he uses to make the case that thought and perception can influence physical health - an idea well outside mainstream cell biology consensus. The book has gone through multiple editions, including a 10th-anniversary edition from Hay House and a further update from St. Martin's Essentials/Sounds True. His related title, Spontaneous Evolution, extends the argument to a broader claim about collective human and planetary change. Lipton's work sits at the intersection of popular science writing and New Age self-help, and is read primarily by audiences already drawn to the idea that consciousness can shape biological outcomes rather than by working biologists.
