About the author
Bobby Lake-Thom, known also as Medicine Grizzly Bear, is a Native American healer from the Karuk tribe and the author of "Call of the Great Spirit: The Shamanic Life and Teachings of Medicine Grizzly Bear" and "Spirits of the Earth: A Guide to Native American Nature Symbols, Stories, and Ceremonies". "Call of the Great Spirit" is a personal account of his reconnection to the Great Spirit and his healing practice, while "Spirits of the Earth" gathers legends and rituals concerning the natural world, from birds to insects, as sources of symbolic guidance. Both books present Native American shamanic perspectives on disease, healing, and nature from within Lake-Thom's own tradition, aimed at readers interested in Indigenous healing practices and nature symbolism as he presents them, rather than at outside academic study of them.
