About the author
Atala Dorothy Toy is the author of Nature Spirits, Spirit Guides, and Ghosts: How to Talk with and Photograph Beings of Other Realms (2012, Quest Books) and We Are Not Alone: A Complete Guide to Interdimensional Cooperation (2009, Weiser Books). According to her books, Toy underwent a near-death experience in the early 1990s while working at the United Nations Development Programme in New York, an event she describes as reshaping her perception of energy and the connections between objects and beings. Her later work builds on that shift, describing encounters with what she calls nature spirits, faeries, angels, ghosts and spirits of place, and offering methods for communicating with and photographing them. Both books combine personal narrative with practical instruction, aimed at readers already interested in spirit communication and psychic photography rather than skeptical or academic readers of spiritualism.
