About the author
Andrew Anderson is a contributor to Moon Books' Pagan Portals and related series, writing on British folklore, animal deities, and writing as spiritual practice. His book Herne the Hunter: The Lord of the Forest traces the English hunting god through myth, folklore, and modern Pagan reinterpretation, weighing whether Herne is an ancient deity, a local ghost, or a literary invention. The Magic of Cats looks at the changing relationship between cats and humans from ancient Egyptian veneration to medieval persecution. Pagan Portals - Artio and Artaois follows the Celtic bear gods through historical and cultural material alongside suggestions for ceremony, while The Ritual of Writing treats writing itself as a seasonal, Wheel-of-the-Year practice. Published between 2019 and 2026, Anderson's books sit within contemporary Pagan and occult nonfiction, aimed at readers interested in British folklore, animism, and practical ritual writing rather than formal magical systems.
