About the author
André Barbault was a French astrologer regarded as one of the twentieth century's leading figures in mundane astrology, the branch concerned with the rise and fall of nations, economies, and historical cycles. Drawing on decades of research, he studied the correlation between planetary cycles and socio-economic change from the pre-Christian era through the last two to three centuries, work presented in Planetary Cycles Mundane Astrology. The Value of Astrology, the first of his books to appear in English, sets out the origins and classical tradition of astrology alongside his own approach to mundane and historical interpretation. Both titles are published in English translation by the Astrological Association and remain reference points for astrologers working in the mundane and historical branches of the field.
