Susan J Wright is the author of The Chakras in Shamanic Practice: Eight Stages of Healing and Transformation, published by Destiny Books and also issued in Spanish translation as Chakras en la Práctica Chamánica by Inner Traditions International. The book sets out a framework for working with the body's chakra centers to address what it describes as unresolved psychic wounds, linking each of the major chakras to a specific stage of psychological development and offering a guide to clearing tension associated with each center. It draws on shamanic practice alongside the chakra system more familiar from yogic and New Age traditions, combining the two into a single developmental model.
