About the author
Paul Rhys Mountfort is the author of two guides to traditional European divination systems published by Destiny Books: Nordic Runes: Understanding, Casting, and Interpreting the Ancient Viking Oracle and Ogam: The Celtic Oracle of the Trees. The runes book covers the twenty-four staves of the Norse runic alphabet, their symbolism, and their place within Norse wisdom tradition, alongside instructions for crafting and casting a set of rune stones. The Ogam volume takes a parallel approach to the twenty-letter tree alphabet associated with the Druids, covering its mythology and magical correspondences along with instructions for making and casting Ogam divination sticks. Both books combine historical and mythological background with step-by-step practical instruction, aimed at readers seeking to understand and use these oracle systems rather than at specialists in Norse or Celtic studies. Mountfort's approach treats each system on its own terms as a distinct divinatory tradition.
