About the author
Patrick Valenza is an artist and tarot deck creator published by U.S. Games Systems, best known for Deviant Moon Tarot, a fully illustrated deck built around moon-faced, dreamlike characters rendered in ink, watercolor, and gouache. The accompanying Deviant Moon Tarot Book walks readers through the imagery and creative process behind the deck, and a Borderless Edition presents the same artwork in a larger card format. His more recent Trionfi Della Luna Tarot, created as a companion piece to Deviant Moon, continues the same visual world with Marseilles-influenced structure and a 68-page booklet of card meanings. Across these projects, Valenza's work is distinguished by its consistent, idiosyncratic visual language, playful and unsettling in equal measure, applied to the traditional seventy-eight card tarot structure. His books and decks are aimed at tarot readers and collectors drawn to distinctive artwork as much as to divinatory content.
