About the author
Nancy Hendrickson writes about tarot as a tool for connecting with family history, with two related titles from Weiser Books. "Ancestral Tarot: Uncover Your Past and Chart Your Future" offers a hands-on method for using a tarot deck to access ancestral insight, aimed at healing, protection, and identifying inherited gifts. "Ancestral Grimoire: Connect with the Wisdom of the Ancestors Through Tarot, Oracles, and Magic" builds on that premise, guiding readers toward constructing a personal Book of Shadows populated with ancestral wisdom drawn from tarot and oracle work. Both books combine genealogical curiosity with tarot practice, treating the deck less as a tool for predicting the future and more as a way of reaching backward toward family lineage. Hendrickson's approach suits readers already interested in genealogy or family history who want to bring a tarot or oracle practice into that research, rather than readers seeking standard tarot instruction alone.
