About the author
Mindie Burgoyne writes regional ghost-lore books centered on Maryland, published through History Press. Haunted Ocean City and Berlin (2014) gathers stories tied to the Boardwalk, Trimper's carousel, and the town square of Berlin, including tales of a sea captain and Jazz-era musicians said to linger at old venues. Haunted Eastern Shore: Ghostly Tales from East of the Chesapeake (2009) extends the same approach across the wider Eastern Shore, collecting stories associated with the Chesapeake Bay's waterways and marshes, from smugglers to reluctant brides. Both books combine local history with the folklore attached to specific sites, presented as guided tours through haunted locations rather than as investigation reports. Burgoyne's work is aimed at readers of regional ghost-story collections and at visitors to the Maryland coast interested in the legends tied to particular landmarks and neighborhoods.
