About the author
Mike Ricksecker writes about ghost lore and paranormal investigation across several American states. A Walk in the Shadows: A Complete Guide to Shadow People (2020) focuses on reported shadow-figure encounters, framing them through the author's own reported childhood experience and examining various theories about what these entities might be. Ghosts and Legends of Oklahoma (2011) and Ghosts of Maryland (2009), both from Schiffer Publishing, are regional collections in the ghost-lore tradition, gathering local stories tied to specific towns, buildings, and historical events, from Oklahoma saloons to Maryland houses. Ricksecker's books mix collected folklore with material drawn from paranormal investigation teams, aimed at readers of regional ghost-story anthologies and of shadow-people literature specifically. His catalogue spans both broad thematic subjects, like shadow people, and place-based collections tied to particular states.
