Kevin Jay Stanton is an illustrator and the creator of Botanica, a tarot deck published by Beehive Books that reinterprets the standard 78-card structure through the language and symbolism of flowers. The original Botanica, released in 2023, grew out of research into botany, plant mythology, and history, rendered in fully painted traditional-style tarot imagery. A follow-up edition, Botanica: Full Bloom, expanded the deck further and is scheduled for 2026 release from the same publisher. Both works are designed objects as much as divinatory tools, aimed at tarot readers and collectors drawn to botanical art and at readers interested in the symbolic vocabulary of flowers as an alternative framework to traditional tarot iconography.
