About the author
Jean Marie Herzel is the creator of Nature Spirit Tarot: A 78-Card Deck and Book for the Journey of the Soul, published by Bear & Company and Inner Traditions International, and also released in Spanish as Tarot de los Espíritus de la Naturaleza. The deck presents the complete major and minor arcana through imagery of plants, birds, insects, reptiles, and gemstones, with an accompanying guidebook explaining traditional Tarot meanings through this natural-world symbolism. The deck received a 2022 Coalition of Visionary Resources Gold Award, according to its publisher. With this single title appearing twice in the catalogue, Herzel's work here is aimed at Tarot readers drawn to nature-based imagery as an entry point into the traditional structure of the deck.
