About the author
Jay Hawkins is the author of Hauntings (PowerKids Press, 2012), a book aimed at younger readers that surveys reportedly haunted houses around the world. It presents the premise that some houses carry the presence of ghosts and spirits beyond any single seasonal association with Halloween, and offers a selection of well-known cases along with what the book frames as supporting evidence. Written in the accessible, explanatory style typical of PowerKids Press's educational titles, it introduces hauntings as a topic rather than arguing a specific investigative case. With only this title listed in the catalogue, Hawkins's presence here is as an author of introductory nonfiction on the paranormal for a young audience.
