About the author
Grady McFerrin is credited as the creator behind two Chronicle Books items in this catalogue, the Grady McFerrin Photo Album and the Crystal Visions Sticky Notes set. The photo album is a gift-format keepsake finished with gold foil stamping, designed to store photographs, while the sticky notes set includes eight illustrated notepads of twenty-five sheets each. Both are decorative, illustration-led stationery products rather than books to be read, and the crystal and celestial imagery associated with the sticky notes places the item within the wider crystals-and-energy gift category. As presented here, McFerrin's work is best understood as illustration and design for paper goods and gift items, aimed at buyers looking for visually distinctive stationery and keepsakes rather than at readers of narrative or instructional text.
