About the author
Giulia Francesca Massaglia is a tarot artist whose decks are published by Llewellyn Publications, including After Tarot Mini and Golden Art Nouveau Tarot Grand Trumps. After Tarot Mini imagines what the traditional scenes of the Rider-Waite-Smith deck would look like in the moments just after those classic images, offered here in a smaller mini-deck format. Golden Art Nouveau Tarot Grand Trumps focuses on the twenty-two cards of the major arcana, rendering Rider-Waite-Smith symbolism in an Art Nouveau style with gold foil detailing and flowing linework. Both decks work from the established Rider-Waite-Smith tradition rather than inventing new tarot symbolism, extending and restyling its familiar imagery for collectors and readers already versed in that system. Massaglia's work centers on illustration and visual reinterpretation of tarot's most widely used imagery, and her decks are aimed at tarot readers and collectors interested in variations on classic card designs rather than at newcomers to tarot.
