About the author
Frater Achad was the magical name of Charles Stansfield Jones (1886-1950), an English-born occultist and one-time close disciple of Aleister Crowley within the Ordo Templi Orientis and the A∴A∴. His catalogued titles, reissued across several small and print-on-demand publishers, include Crystal Vision Through Crystal Gazing, a 1923 treatise on scrying as a method of contacting higher intelligences, and Q.B.L.: Or, The Brides Reception, a study of the Qabalah within Thelemic and Hermetic thought. The Magical Interpretation of Parzival and the Star Goddess applies his esoteric framework to the medieval grail legend. Jones broke with Crowley in the 1920s and continued to develop his own interpretations of the Qabalah and ceremonial magic independently. His books remain in print largely as primary sources for readers of early twentieth-century Thelemic and Golden Dawn-descended occultism rather than as introductory material.
