About the author
Dan Asfar is a Canadian writer whose books, published by Ghost House Books, collect regional ghost stories and paranormal accounts drawn from local history. Titles on sale here include Ghost Stories of Louisiana, Ghost Stories of Colorado, Ghost Stories of Florida, Ghost Hunters of America, and Haunted Battlefields, each built around reported hauntings tied to specific places, wars, and historical events, from the French Quarter to Civil War sites. The books mix historical background with retellings of local legends and interviews or reports attributed to residents and investigators, aimed at readers of popular ghost-story collections and armchair paranormal enthusiasts rather than academic folklorists. Asfar has produced similar state-by-state and theme-based volumes for Ghost House Books over a number of years, and his work is generally read as regional folklore and entertainment rather than documented history.
