About the author
Courtney McInvale writes regional ghost-history books published by History Press and Haunted Road Media, including Civil War Ghosts of Georgia: Volume 1 and Revolutionary War Ghosts of Connecticut. Civil War Ghosts of Georgia surveys sites of the Civil War as it moved through the state, from the mountain battles at Chickamauga through the Atlanta Campaign and Sherman's March to the Sea, pairing local history with reported hauntings tied to those places. Revolutionary War Ghosts of Connecticut follows the same approach for an earlier period, moving between battlefields and taverns associated with the Revolution and figures such as Nathan Hale. McInvale's books belong to the History Press tradition of local, place-based ghost-story collections, combining documented historical events with the folklore that has grown up around specific sites. They are written for readers interested in American regional history and local hauntings rather than for readers seeking instruction in paranormal practice.
