About the author
Claire Goodchild is an artist and author whose illustrated guides combine original artwork with instruction on divination and ritual. The Book of Seances: A Guide to Divination and Speaking to Spirits (Voracious, 2022) covers methods for conducting seances and working with spirit communication, and The Book of Ancestors: A Guide to Magic, Rituals, and Your Family History (Voracious, 2023) extends that approach into ancestor work and family history as a spiritual practice. She is also the creator of The Antique Anatomy Tarot Kit, a boxed deck and guidebook that pairs antique botanical and anatomical illustration with tarot. Across these titles, Goodchild's own artwork is central to the reading experience, and her books are aimed at readers drawn to a visually distinctive, illustration-led approach to divination and ritual rather than purely text-based instruction.
