About the author
Casey Gilly is credited on The Lord of the Rings Tarot Deck and Guide, published by Insight Editions in 2022 and reissued as a gift set the following year. The deck and its accompanying guidebook adapt the seventy-eight-card tarot structure to the characters, places, and events of Tolkien's Middle-earth, pairing figures such as Frodo, Sam, and Gandalf with traditional tarot positions and meanings. The guide explains the correspondences drawn between the novels and the cards, giving readers both a working tarot deck and a reference for how each character or scene maps onto established tarot symbolism. Produced under official Tolkien license, these books are aimed at readers who already enjoy tarot practice and want a version built around a familiar fictional world, as well as at collectors of licensed Tolkien merchandise.
