I collect works on this subject and this is a worthy addition. You can tell why this work has endured. It rewards patience more than any book I've bought this year. Five stars from me.

Bought this as a gift for my sister and ended up ordering a second copy for myself. The historical context alone makes it worth the price. The language takes some getting used to, but it becomes part of the charm. A few pages arrived with light corner wear, though nothing serious. Good, with the caveats above.
