Finally got around to ordering this. I appreciated how the argument builds steadily from first principles. The historical context alone makes it worth the price. Five stars from me.
First purchase from this shop. It rewards patience more than any book I've bought this year. Some chapters demand a slow, careful read, and that's exactly the point. Delivery took a bit longer than quoted. Good, with the caveats above.

I collect works on this subject and this is a worthy addition. A text you study rather than simply read. There's real depth here that reveals itself on a second reading. I'd have loved an index, but that's on the original text.
