Finally got around to ordering this. Challenging in places, but never needlessly obscure. It assumes more background than a beginner might have. Good, with the caveats above.
Honestly wasn't sure what to expect, but I'm impressed. Every rereading turns up something I missed. Recommended if you're ready to do the work.
Honestly wasn't sure what to expect, but I'm impressed. It connects ideas I'd only seen treated separately elsewhere. The language takes some getting used to, but it becomes part of the charm. It assumes more background than a beginner might have. Happy enough with the purchase.
Not my usual area but wanted to branch out. Plenty of passages worth underlining; my copy is already full of margin notes. The text itself is dense but rewarding — you get out what you put in. If you're drawn to this subject, don't hesitate.
I've read excerpts online before, but having the full text is different. Some chapters demand a slow, careful read, and that's exactly the point. It reads better in small doses — a chapter at a time with notes. A few pages arrived with light corner wear, though nothing serious. Good, with the caveats above.
I collect works on this subject and this is a worthy addition. Not a light read, but far more accessible than I feared. Definitely recommend.
As someone who reads a lot in this field, I can be picky. The print is clean and easy on the eyes for long sessions.
